This Bellemain Manual Meat Grinder is simple, lightweight and compact. When I lifted it for the first time, it was so small that I doubted that it could actually work. It surprised me with how well it managed to do its jobs.

The suction base stands stable on the counter, and I didn’t have to try so hard to keep it unmovable. The grinder is mostly plastic, but it feels pretty sturdy and well-built. The blade cut the meat nicely. Its units come apart and are machine-washable.

The meat pusher helps a lot in getting the meat inside the hole without any risk of hurting the fingers. The stainless-steel blade and disc give the ground meat a great texture. I used it to grind turkey, beef, pork and chicken.

I do not see in the package the vegetable grinding features, so I can’t be sure if it works in that case. Also, there is no other attachment besides the meat pusher. I also had some difficulties grind big meat chunks. I would suggest you trim the meat into small pieces to fit the hole in the bowl.

I am using one of this LEM #10 grinder at home. It has an antique look and quite outdated. However, it works as well as any modern-looking manual grinder.

The whole construction is stainless steel. This gives the machine a very sturdy and durable feeling. But the grinder is quite heavy (around 8 pounds). I never choose it to bring along on trips.

This LEM grinder isn’t a suction-based grinder. It has a clamp which attaches firmly to the table. But I would suggest you to use on a layer of cover on top of your kitchen counter or table to avoid scratches.

This Kitchen Basic 2-in1 grinder is also one of my kitchen gadgets. And I could say for sure this is my most-used and most favorite manual meat grinder on this list. It is a multi-function and compact grinder.

This grinder does a great job mincing meat and vegetable. I can even make a vegetable puree with it. It is still a grinder for a small amount of meat and not for bone grinding like most of the grinders that make this list.

It has a suction base that sticks so well to the counter or table surface. There is a removable wrench that helps seal the suction base to the table. It also serves as a meat pusher, but it is too short. The steel crank with plastic handle is comfortable yet firm to hold and operate.

The grinder comes with three sausage funnels to make homemade sausages in 3 sizes. It has a bowl to contain the output. What makes the Basic Kitchen grinder different from the other three grinders above are its pasta attachments. I can make spaghetti or rigatoni (a tube-shaped kind of pasta) with this Kitchen Basic grinder.

I do not own this Useful. Grinder but I have chances to use it a few times. As its name, it can grind meat, vegetables and make pasta. It has almost all the same functions and features as the Kitchen Basic Grinder above. And it is the cheapest grinder in the list.

The Useful. Ginder is also a suction-based grinder. It has a free bowl coming inside the package. There are three sizes of sausages tubes. It has pasta attachments to make spaghetti and linguine.

It grinds meat quite well. I haven’t tried to mince vegetables and make pasta with this grinder. Therefore, I can’t compare these two features of Useful grinder with other grinders above.

This grinder weighs only 1.4 pounds, lighter than all four grinders above. However, when I was using it, the suction base didn’t seal completely with the surface. I noticed some movements while grinding.

Cutting the meat and removing unwanted parts like bone pieces, sinew, silverskin, and ligaments to avoid clog while grinding.

Keep the Meat Cold

Leave the meat and the blade in the fridge for a couple of hours to keep them cold before grinding to have a fresh and nice texture ground meat.

Do Not Use Dull Blade

A dull place never gives you the ground meat you desire. It can even cause the meat stuck inside the grinder.

Focus When Grinding

A manual grinder is pretty safe, but you’d better pay attention to what you are doing to avoid any accident.

Conclusion

From my experience with different manual meat grinders, all five grinders in this list deserve a spot in home kitchens. However, my favorite is the Kitchen Basics 3-in-1 Meat Grinder and Vegetable Grinder/Mincer. It offers the most values combined by others.
