Best Zoodle Maker – You Need to Get Great Blades, Sturdy Frame, or Unique Style?

First Words

It’s hard to find someone who hates pasta. My family lives in a small town in the countryside, where my mother runs a family restaurant serving wonderful pasta recipes. We have a good bunch of customers, and things go on well until somebody is asking for “zoodle.”

My mother was confused at first, but then the kind customer explained that it was a new, healthy, and green noodle alternative, made 100% of zucchini. Or I you hate the flavor of that vegetable, there are various substitutes you can reach to make green pasta. Of, course, it can be made by hand, and a skillful cook as my mother can do the task. But then the concept was more and more popular among customers on a diet, so it’s time for an automatic device.

Best-Zoodle-Maker-introduction

I sought consultation with my friends on Twitter and was told that zoodle makers are abundant in the market. There are good ones and bad ones, so it is hard to find a perfect product for our business. But with the help of my peers, I have lifted the burden out of my mother’s shoulder with Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer (BR-5B-02). And, I feel that it’s my ‘mission’ to spread the information to you guys.

A Good Zoodle Maker Needs To Include The Following Factors

This is the part need most of your attention in the post. You may not like my choices for one reason or another, but a good vegetable spiralizer, much like a cheese slicer, needs these features below. Check for them before making any purchasing.

Easy To Use – An electric one should go with a simple, easy-to-understand instruction. As for hand-held and bench-top ones, is the lever easy to twist? Can you attach the zucchini or any zucchini substitute smoothly in the device? Remember that small irritation can become a significant burden in the long run.

Easy to Clean Maintenance is essential to every device to last long, so you should choose a model which can be simply detached and scrub. Dishwasher-safe is big thumbs-up as well. Those with the feature also help you maintain the food’s hygiene and nutrition value.

Durability – Since zucchini is a fairly big veggie, making zoodle always requires sturdy tools and devices. The blades must be sharp, yet tough enough so that they wouldn’t fall out or get chipped too soon. Who knows when a loose blade or shaky handle can threaten your beautiful hands?

Types – Of all the zoodle maker ideas, we can say that there are three specific kinds, namely hand-held, bench-top and electric ones. For each goal, you should choose the most suitable products. My mother has to slice a significant amount of vegetable in various styles every day, so I bought her a bench-top spiralizer. A hand-held saves space on your countertops, but holding it for too long will hurt your hand.

BPA-Free  Zoodle makers touch your food directly, so you should choose ones made by safe materials.

Food Waste Unlike cutting and slicing by hands, using the tools means you have to leave some part of the veggie unprocessed. So a good product should deal with most of the vegetable, leave out only a minimum part. Garden products are often inexpensive, but wasting food is never acceptable.

Price – It’s not much to worry because a spiralizer, with all the outstanding features, costs only $10 - $50. Low-pricing doesn’t mean bad quality. Just check your pocket, head to the next part where you can see 05 excellent products of various prices and choose one for your kitchen.

I was so lucky that the first time I bought a veggie spiralizer, it was the best in the market. So far I have never seen any bad review of the product. Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer (BR-5B-02) is a bench-top one with an easy-to-use lever. All the blades are sharp and produce beautifully shaped zoodle. My mother loves the veggie holder the most because it holds the vegetable securely, which helps make the best results.

What We Like

  • Beautiful, Consistent Zoodle Produced: Zucchini is, of course, a firm vegetable. So are carrot, sweet potato, and beetroot. However, the device slice, shred and chip smoothly and give us perfect-shaped veggie noodle. All the five blades are sharp and useful, also clearly labeled so you can consider before putting in use. You can even create the 2mm ultra-thin veggie noodle which is called “angel hair.”
  • Secured, Fool-proof Vegetable Holders: They hold the veggies snugly, so the processing happens much more smoothly. The teeth are big and sturdy, hard to fall out, so you can rest assured about the durability of the zoodle maker.
  • Large Working Capacity: Considering if the spiralizer can fit big veggies? It can, indeed. The maximum capacity the device can hold is 10" long x 7" wide, enough to handle almost all kinds of vegetables.
  • Surprisingly Low Price: The fantastic device comes at an incredible cost. I bought it by impulse after listening to some friends’ advice, but I thought it would be low-quality. It turned out completely awesome and took me only $30.
  • Additional Blade Caddy: It means your blades will be efficiently protected. Besides, my mother said she found it easy to put them in and out of the device. Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer is already assembled, and pretty easy to detach.
  • Perfect Material: 100% BPA free, food-safe, dishwasher safe (only the top rack, though), reinforced ABS plastic, the list goes on.

What We Don't Like

  • Pretty Much Food Waste: Using Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer means you have to leave the long core part of the veggie unsliced. My mother saves the day by cutting it with a knife, but when she’s too busy with so many customers, the parts will go straight to the trash bin.
  • Not So Easy To Clean: Because the teeth are big and long, cleaning the holder is such a nuisance. The tiny bits of vegetables keep sticking to the narrow surface.

If you are not pleased with the wastefulness of Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer, and seeking a more frugal zoodle maker, Original SpiraLife Spiralizer is the best for you. While the previous model is ideal for a small restaurant, the one is more suitable for family usage. One more plus point, it saves much storage space!

What We Like

  • Compacted Hand-held Model: Original SpiraLife Spiralizer is perfect for a small kitchen which cannot bear much kitchenware. You can utilize the small, lovely zoodle maker, then put it away on a rack. Say goodbye to big bench-tops and electric ones.
  • Incredibly Saving Ability: The funnels are shorter and wider than those of other models, while the cap is specially designed so that it will turn most of the veggie into smooth zoodle. You will receive less waste and incredible green noodle.
  • Thick Blade Opening: It means both the noodle and ribbon would be more sturdy and be able to stand in a thick sauce. In another word, you can use more cooking methods on the food without the fear of crushing them.
  • Water-proof Bag and Cleaner Attached: When you buy the product on Amazon, you can receive a lovely bag to protect the zoodle maker after using and a spiralizer cleaner. It helps you remove the tiny stuck vegetable bits deep inside while the tool is hard to detach.

What We Don't Like

  • Limited Choices: Due to the compacted design, the model offers only two zoodle shapes: Spaghetti and Ribbon. You have to stick to them or make more creative ones with a traditional knife.
  • Smaller Than Expected: You want to stick big veggie in? Wait for a disappointment. If you happen to buy big grocery products, but them into smaller pieces with a knife before using the tool.

Another handheld model for you. My dear friend Eliza bought it after reading the brand’s advertisement. It turned out a decent product with the pleasantly low price. Though, I have to say the ads are a bit accelerating about the zoodle maker.

What We Like

  • Big Surprise Opening The Box: I should let you discover it yourself when you buy the spiralizer, but… never mind! There is a joyful bundle including a spiralizer, a ceramic peeler, a flexible cleaning brush, a water-proof bag, and a digital guidebook full of recipes.
  • Built-in Finger Guard: The small tool is hardly a threat to our hands, but the producer takes another step forward by giving us a new protection stage. The blades are extra-sharp, so we’d better beware.
  • Fairly Reliable: The material of the model is mostly satisfactory, including BPA-free plastic and heat-treated stainless steel. The tool will never accidentally contaminated your green meals.
  • Five-year Warranty: I don’t think my dear Eliza will use it for so long. (She is looking for an electric one to fit in her large, modern kitchen). But it’s nice to know that the manufacturer heartily supports customers.

What We Don't Like

  • Limited Choices: Just like Original SpiraLife Spiralizer, there are only two options integrated into the model
  • Small Recipe Books: And hard to read. They should raise the price a bit and give us a more readable thing instead.
  • Uneven Zoodle Produced: Just sometimes, but it disappointed us a lot when the pasta is not beautifully made.

Before buying Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer, I had considered the model. It’s a significant one, but I can’t get along with the seven unlabeled blades. There is little direction as well. However, overall, other features can satisfy the pickiest customer.

What We Like

  • Versatility: The zoodle maker can deal with almost every kind of vegetable, and make various shapes out of them owing to the vast choices of blades.
  • Safe Material: The blades are made of stainless steel, and the plastic used to produce the whole frame is BPA-free, keeping your food away from contamination.
  • Lifetime Replacement: Offered by the manufacturer. That means when you are still using the products, you can make them bring you new parts if you find the old ones chipped, loosened, or having any troubles.

What We Don't Like

  • Unlabeled Blades: It’s quite difficult for newbies to figure out how to deal with the device. The manufacturer should consider it next time producing a new model.
  • Low-quality Suction Cup: Most bench-top models stay on the countertops owing to the part, and so does the one. But some customers find it not working at all. Such a nuisance when the cutter keeps moving while you are trying to make some zoodle from a firm, raw veggie.

Last but not least, the only electric one I put on the list. It is impossible to deny the capacity and efficiency of the model, though I don’t like the idea of using an electronic device for the job. Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Electric Spiralizer fits in a modern, high-end kitchen. Plus, the producer offers a large attached bundle.

What We Like

  • Three Cutting Cones: It means you can create three types of veggie noodle if you want. Use the spaghetti cone to make long, swirly, thin strands of noodles; the linguini one to make thicker strands; and the ribbon blade for the broad, continuous curls.
  • Metal Food Grip: Indeed, it works better than the plastic ones of the bench-top models above. The vegetable will stay securely in place.
  • Large Capacity: The zoodle maker offers a six-cup bowl, so you can slice more without stopping to change the container.
  • Small Storage Space: Though it’s an electronic device, Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 Electric Spiralizer makes up a modest area in your kitchen. Even the cord has its integrated space. So you don’t have to worry about the bulkiness of electronic things.

What We Don't Like

  • Getting Sometimes Clogged: Which means we have to disassemble, clean, and put the parts together again. Such an irritation.
  • Narrow Chute: So you have to cut the veggie into smaller pieces to fit in.

The Verdict

So far, my mother has been happy with our Brieftons 5-Blade Spiralizer (BR-5B-02). The product has its own merits and demerits, but it is an incredible companion and faithful servant. I plan to buy another one so my father can help my mother when the number of customers asking for zoodle is increasing. As for you guys, you can like my choice or not, but we should agree that it’s time to free ourselves from the arduous task of cutting veggie into strands. Technology is here to help.
